TTRPG in Progress - Knights In White Satin
Share
Happy to announce our next release! A dungeon for Shadowdark called Knights in White Satin! Obviously inspired by a misunderstood spelling of the Moody Blues song, it's heavily influenced by the lyrics and poem in the album version. Mel grew up hearing the song and thought it was "Knights" until just a couple years ago! Not as embarrassing as some of my misheard lyrics...
Mel is writing and illustrating this one solo, with editing and playtesting being done by me and our usual cast of characters. It's going to play off of Shadowdark's light mechanics by having moonlight be a big part of the dungeon's game play. It also has a poetry component if you want to show off your creative writing chops.
We got a chance to pick up and play Shadowdark finally at Philly Area Gaming Expo (PAGE), and really dig it. Their tweaks on the usual OSR framework has some really clever time limit ideas that keeps the action kicking. I can see why this is such a big game for cons and podcasts.
We also have a handful of other projects in the works
Altoid Tin Game - we'll think of a good name for this, I swear. Playtesting is good (same system as our business cards), art and layout mostly done, and we just have to source the extra physical bits (tins, pencils & dice). Teeny booklets with the ruleset, DM & player advice, 4 settings with plothooks.
BEHOLD - A finalized version of the DIE versus DIE playtest. Going to have 2 sets of base rules to be either like DvD rules in I Got A Knife or our business card games, a much better version of the magick rules, and an intro adventure in our Atera Redux setting.
Ska Game - Just an idea for now. Some type of black & white d6 dicepool system.
